Our dear family friend Stephen came to Texas for a few days to visit. Unfortunately, Stephen lives in Memphis and does not make it out here nearly enough. I suppose just the fact that he lives in Memphis is unfortunate, but I digress.

Great light (no trains though) and a beautiful blue Texas sky
So. . . . Just a few photos of randomness, some volcanic activity in North Texas and a nice family lunch. I give credit to Stephen for the majority of the photos. He is a much better photographer than I and it was his punishment (um. . . payment) for coming to stay at Casa de Carr.
Saturday night - we made volcanoes out of modeling clay. I don't exactly remember what brought it up, but M has the memory of an elephant so there was no getting out of it once we discussed the possibility of making our own volcanoes. We decided since Wes was at work Saturday night he could judge the volcanoes on Sunday morning (don't know why we have to have a winner for everything).
Here are the results:
M wins Best Volcano Shape, Best Blending of Color & Least Crowded Platform
L wins Most Creative Use of Color, Best "Accessories" & Tallest Structure
a-ha, clever.... a tie.

The fun in progress
What the men do while lunch fixes itself.....or something
Lunch on the patio.
Uh . . . Keri - Wie wollen Sie sagen?
It was all fun and games and no one lost an eye. I consider this a success! I had forgotten how much fun it could be to be a kid. Oh yeah - I even got to grill some lunch and drink a bottle of wine. I did say a bottle . . . yes, I did.

my attempt at capturing the beauty I see in the backyardI will probably update soon after Eric's birthday bash in San Marcos in two weeks.
OH!!! Oh, oh, oh! I do have a couple of Rangers games on the horizon and I am completely excited about both. The kids, mom-in-law and I will attend the April 24th game and then I somehow conned my dad in to going to the May 1st day game. Yeah baby! See you soon.

I would say it (guh-vertz-trah-MEEN-er) with a strong German accent, if I could. Apparently gewurz means spicy or spiced. But don't attempt to say that after drinking a full bottle, I'm pretty sure you might say something else spicy. Oh, and a little German grammar lesson - since we are familiar, you can use "du" instead of "Sie." Sie is formal you and du is not. So, you could say "Wie tun sagst du das?"
Love the volcanoes!
I love you!
You will have to tell me in human...um person.
I should learn German so we can talk with a strong German accent!
. . . and so I don't say something spicy when I really don't mean to.
I think for my 1st attempt at German.. I did good by using the Google translator. :)
Love you too.
